NEW KPB OFFICERS FOR 2017

New officers were elected at the Keep Pickens Beautiful (KPB) board meeting, November 5, 2016. From left to right are Vered Kleinberger, Special Projects chairperson; Joan Britton, Green Ribbon/Thumb, Chairperson; Ron Jager, Director, Mary Ann Rentz, Vice President & Beautification Chairperson; Carol Opdenhoff, President; Bart Connelly, Adopt A Road, Chairperson; Stan Barnett, Director; Codi Van Atta, Secretary/Treasurer & Membership Chairperson; Missing, Al Roth, Director.

A major KPB initiative, Adopt-A-Road, under the leadership of Bart Connelly was very successful in 2016. 20 volunteers or groups picked up 415 bags of litter from approximately 136 miles of Pickens County Roads. KPB is grateful to our volunteers who performed this service in 2016.

NEW OFFICERS FOR 2015 

New officers were elected at the Keep Pickens Beautiful (KPB) annual meeting , December 1, 2014. Seated from right to left are Vered Kleinberger, President; Mary Ann Rentz, Vice-President; and Fran Dodd , Secretary/Treasurer.

On January 5th the KPB board of directors welcomed all new and returning board members at its Annual Awards Dinner. The Elaine Thomason award was given to Mike Haviland for his Adopt-A-Road efforts by collecting 110 bags of trash from our roads. The Outstanding Member Award was given to Diane Kinzer for her continuing efforts to educate the students of Pickens County of the importance of maintaining the beauty and quality of their environment. Diane is a teacher at Hill City Elementary School and has served as a KPB Board member since 2011.


A major KPB initiative, Adopt-A-Road, under the leadership of Bart Connelly was very successful in 2014. 14 volunteers or groups picked up 247.5 bags of litter from approximately 62.5 miles of Pickens County Roads. Everyone in the county owes a debt of gratitude to the volunteers who performed this service in 2014.

The Board of Directors for 2015 are: Bart Connelly, Lynn Cooper, Fran Dodd, Susan Anderson, Vered Kleinberger, Angel Price, Carol Opdenhoff, Mary Ann Rentz, Al Rothe, Ron Jager and Codi Van Atta.  Gloria Proudfoot is our Office Manager. Keep Pickens Beautiful is led by board of directors.    We meet the first Monday of every month at the Pickens County Sheriff Department, on Camp Road Jasper, at 6:30 PM.  Our meeting is open to the public and we encourage our residents to attend and give us your input regarding our county.

NEW OFFICERS FOR 2014

New officers were elected at the Keep Pickens Beautiful (KPB) annual meeting/Christmas Party at the home of Board Member Al Rothe. Vered Kleinberger was elected President, Al Rothe was elected Vice-President and Carol Opdenhoff was elected Secretary/Treasurer at the December 2nd  meeting.

On January 13th at a weather delayed meeting of the KPB board of directors, the gavel was passed from outgoing President Carol Opdenhoff to new President, Vered Kleinberger. At this meeting plans for 2014 and results for 2013 were discussed.

A major KPB initiative, Adopt-A-Road, under the leadership of Ron Jager was very successful in 2013. Almost 65 volunteer picked up 377.5 bags of liter from approximately 35 miles of Pickens County Roads. Everyone in this County owes a debt of gratitude to the volunteers that performed this service in 2013.

Bart Connelly will be taking over Chairmanship of this program for 2014.
