KPB, formerly Citizens for a Clean Community, was founded in 1989.  It was started by a group of concerned citizens striving to develop a clean and beautiful environment for Pickens County.  As part of the Keep America Beautiful Program, KPB seeks to improve our quality of life by eliminating litter through increased public awareness.  A key part of the waste “reduction” is “conservation” – using natural resources wisely and using less than usual in order to avoid waste.

KPB: A History

Keep Pickens Beautiful has now passed its 30th Anniversary!

Our current focus is to continue benefiting the community in whatever ways we can!  We hope to work with coordinators to help with recycling efforts at festivals and events.  We look forward to working with more local businesses to assist with reducing their landfill-waste by increasing their recycling.

But mostly, we can’t wait to meet you!  We are working with people like you to increase education and awareness about how every little bit helps!  We are going to continue sharing educational opportunities for you and your family to have fun while expanding your environmental awareness.

Let us know how we can work together!
